Two Paragraphs About Me

Since the Fall of 2005, I have been pursuing my PhD in Information and Computer Sciences at UC Irvine, where I am advised by Gillian Hayes. My dissertation topic will be on people's perceptions and attitudes of tracking and recording technologies in everyday life. In general, my research interests are in Ubiquitous Computing (Ubicomp) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). I enjoy building new applications and systems; my curiosity also drives me to study how people interact and use these and other technical systems.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Cogntive Science and another in Computer Science from UC San Diego. I received a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan. Other notable pieces of paper include a class one paragliding license, a certification for open water diving, and a certificate of completion of "Sailing: For the Fun of It."
